Rejected By The Ivy League!

Tami: I have been involved/will be in Speech and Debate for 4 years for the team ranked #1 in the country (as a result, there is a high standard of competitiveness and very few get to the top in our school). I have also been involved with Percussion and Community Service for 4 years. I did not intentionally join these clubs junior year, as each of them was STARTED this year (this is one part of my application I'm worried about and how I'll communicate this to adcoms).

I don't see how you're blowing off the National Merit Commendation award as "uh...I think you know."

And doesn't knowing over a dozen computer science languages stand out?

In any case, thank you for your honest response. I'm working on attaining national recognition in Cycling (which, as you pointed out, is pretty much my strong point right now).

I must point out that my school is HIGHLY competitive (this isn't a joke)...CMU acceptance rate of 72%, Georgetown at 40%, UPenn at 40%...

I don't know, maybe I'm just a pessimist, but I don't think you're a shoe-in like some other people have said. You definitely have a shot as is, but you'd better be improving in all aspects if you want to get into those schools. If you're a Math/Science person and you want to apply CompSci, try some Math/Science related clubs or activities, like Science Olympiad, AMC/AIME/USAMO, etc etc...

Where was your Biomed Research Internship at/what did you do? That sounds interesting...

carnegie mellon's computer science program is absolutely amazing! you seem pretty qualified and well-rounded to me.. i'd say you have a pretty good shot. there's nothing that really catches my attention and earns my absolute guarantee, however.
