I applied for mechanical engineering to 12 colleges.

This list will probably grow by the end of next week (Ivy day hahahaha) but…
I was rejected from Northwestern, UMich SMTD, and Yale NUS college.
Waitlisted by Colby and Middlebury

I applied to both SMTD and LSA. I’ve only heard from SMTD so far…I applied RD to LSA and have yet to hear back. I have absolutely no clue when the decisions will come out

So I applied to Swarthmore ED2 against the consent of my parents, counsellors, and teachers, as they expected me to get into better places. And I was outright rejected. I was extremely upset, but I have now gotten into 3 schools that are ranked higher than Swarthmore, and have been waitlisted at Williams and was deferred from Yale SCEA. I am now waiting for the Ivies to come out on March 30th, and I cannot explain how relieved I am that Swarthmore did not accept me!! So, there is a flip side to every situation. I am sure you will all get into great places. And after all, if a college does not want you, it’s better to realise now than after accepting an offer
As for rankings, USN has Swarthmore at #4 on the LAC list. If you were WL at Williams, that leaves only Amherst and Wellsley in between. What other schools are you speaking of?

@Benny365, first, congratulations as Whitman is a great choice. Did you both feel that the ones you were rejected at were matches and did you have a profile that was in the top-25%? Remember these are all reaches for everyone.
Yea i did feel like some were matches, but i think the main reasons why was probably because im an international and I require financial aid. I only got 1400 for my SAT so thats prob not that competitive haha, but im still praying that I’ll have hope for the ivies this weekend

@ANormalSeniorGuy, congratulations on some great acceptances. It’s tough out there. have twin DD’s with similar stats (35 ACT, 3.8 UW GPA) and they have a mix of acceptances, waitlists and denials at similarly great schools - focus on the acceptances to great schools part!
