Rejected Class of 2021

@Chembiodad thanks will do. How do your daughters deal with rejection, as to me it sucks that high achieving kids get rejected like we are normal. I mean its one thing to apply to Georgetown as an extreme reach (for me Stanford MIT and UChicago) but come on your daughters are above the 85th percentile at Georgetown

@ANormalSeniorGuy, yes, my twin DD’s were mad about some of the denials and waitlists, but as life is about victories that come easily, victories that come hard, and those that slip through your hands it’s a life lesson that we all have to learn. That said, they are still hopeful for next Thursday, hopeful about the waitlists, and will have a great experience if they attend one of the top schools they have already been accepted to - but it still stings for now…

@Chembiodad I felt that I had a decent chance, and I told myself that it was worth a try. I expected some of my rejections, but I felt I should have been waitlisted at others. Oh well.

@ANormalSeniorGuy I agree with Chembiodad those are great acceptances and waitlists.

Also just got rejected by Georgetown loool

Can’t wait until the pain of college rejection fades away

@WiseSeaweed thank u lol! It’s why I’m not too terribly sad about these rejections

@Benny365 I almost beat you. Just a few more rejections and I’m there :stuck_out_tongue:

Rejections from Tufts (ED1 but from MA so legit impossible) and WashU in St Louis.
Waitlist (or soft rejects) from Case Western and Lehigh
But hey I was accepted at Rensselaer and Nova so I can’t complain

Rejected: Duke ED1 (big reach but had hope)
Deferred: Tulane and Binghamton (safeties, oops)
Accepted: Emory ED2 (target)
I also applied to 8 other schools of which I will never hear whether or not I was accepted…

@hobowriter forgive me for providing unsolicited advice but Brandeis lists “Level of Applicant’s Interest” as “Important”. Your stats are very solid for there – will your guidance counselor contact them and tell them you would definitely attend it admitted? (Assuming that is so.)

@Postmodern I let them know in my waitlist form and also plan to say it in another email later on. (No need to apologize, it’s good advice!)

Rejected: william and mary, northeastern
Waitlist: brandeis, villanova, emory
Accosted: lehigh, university of rochester, gettysburg, syracuse

Rejected:

  • Swarthmore (did not give a shit)
  • Vassar (left a void in my heart)
  • USC (proper heartbreak too)
  • Gtown (my parents took away my inheritance)

Waitlisted

  • UVA (don’t really care.)

Also got deferred from Yale EA but I’m pretty sure it was a gentle way of telling me to piss off cause I’m a legacy

reject: emory, northwestern, duke
waitlist: Amherst
accept: Georgetown, Vanderbilt, uva oos, bc, umich

@cookieloverboy congrats on those awesome acceptances!!!

@WiseSeaweed thank you so much!!!

What I don’t understand is why you’re lying to all of us about the number of better schools you got into. Please understand that that is not possible. People here are upset. This is not a joke.

I am not lying, I got a likely letter from Columbia and Amherst, and I got into Wellesley and Middlebury
