rejected for cal grant?

<p>I just got a letter saying I'm not qualify for cal grant because my income is over the ceiling. But i have 5 family members and my dad make about $65000 and my mom doesn't work, and it says that the ceiling for family of 5 is $74000.</p>

<p>I don't understand, why did I get rejected? should I file an appeal?</p>

<p>Besides income ceiling, Cal Grants also have an asset ceiling of $53,800.
This could be why.</p>
