Think that's about everything...
Thanks

Oh rank is 1/296 btw

I think both Northwestern & CMU are matches. Not quite a sure bet, but you are definitely up there. Answer their "why ________" questions well - you don't want them to think you're just using them as back-ups.

I cant believe you were Rejected

At least deferred but not Rejected

Sorry man

where do you live?

ca?

no I live in Ohio

Why no MIT?

Well, if I can't get into Stanford then I don't think my chances at MIT would be very good either. But I didn't apply because I just wasn't really interested in going there for undergrad - I figured it'd be a better graduate school. And I was actually thinking the same thing for Stanford but my cousin got her law degree from there and she wanted me to apply since she lives in California and I hadn't applied anywhere out west.

Apply to Harvey Mudd then? You're at least a match there.

CMU: Match+ (close to safe match)

ur good for rpi... its 77% acceptance

Probably good for CMU, unsure about northwestern

a d m i s s i o n c h a n c e s . c o m

This should be pinned. 95% of ccers would have called you a shoo in at Stanford.

i think you're great. in fact, you could have had so more reach schools!

I can't believe you were rejected.... what the hell more could they possibly want, become president, land on the moon, and find a new continent, and maybe then they'll accept you.

You have great stats, keep trying at other schools.

this is the problem with the corporation that is higher education. when you have stats like this student (assuming everything stated is true) and that student gets rejected from a college, that is absolutely rediculous. yes i realize its stanford but come on now, this person clearly did the best they could their whole lives to have the option to go wherever they want to go. i know there are many other qualified students but this just strikes a chord deep within me.

i am truely sorry about you being rejected. theres no reason for why this happened.

Ajp, you assume that all is quantative, while little in life is. Most state schools do accept solely on numbers, but most private schools, and everything else in life don't.

Colleges are in general trying to form well rounded, interesting classes. Filling a class with 4.0/2400s doesn't achieve that.

The high achieving need to take their egos out of the process. How can we explain why Yale and Harvard take many the other rejects. Adcom bias, needs that year, any number of things. We are not owed a place at any school for having worked hard.

The lesson is to apply widely. Don't use the same essay topic for all, use any contacts you have. There is no guarantee.

Stanford has been really weird with their A/D/R stuff this year...

I'd say you have a GREAT shot at all of the latter schools & Northwestern/Carnegie Mellon would be Matches.

Good luck.

Judging from your interests, maybe you should consider Johns Hopkins, that would be a Match.
