Hi Guys! Some of you may know me, i’ve been on CC since like 2013 or 2014 but for some reason I didn’t use this valuable resource in applying this year. Due to personal health,unexpected travel, and procrastination,I applied to 2 or 3 less boarding schools than I planned on,and in hindsight I really should’ve applied to more,especially since boarding school is my goal.Anyway,I ended up getting rejected from Andover and waitlisted at Deerfield,and according to my mentor,its unlikely that Deerfield will accept me,so I’m just going to my older sisters hs-an international private high school here in california.Think the American School of Paris or something but in california,lol.I’m also applying to Stoneleigh-Burnham rolling admissions-but thats another story.Anyway since I’m probably not getting into Deerfield and idk about Stoneleigh-Burnham, I really want to apply again for boarding schools next year.What are your guys opinions on this? Any advice on transfering/transfer students? Since I’ve gone through the process I really know what to do next time again,and if it comes to that-which it probably will-I think I’d make a much better candidate.Any advice?

This is a great place to start if you’d like to explore different schools for next year. I brought you to page 4 because it has blurbs and links to school websites but the entire thread is worth a read and has a lot of good info.

@KimberlyLaila I honestly didn’t do much differently. I just kept in touch with the schools as late as reasonable and expanded my list when I applied again. (A lot of good that did; I ended up at the first school I ever looked at. )
@KimberlyLaila Go to boarding school review and look for more schools with rolling admissions - you might be surprised to see some well known hidden gems that accept later applications and it is not unheard of, though pretty uncommon, for late applicants to be accepted even when there are kids still on the school’s waitlist. Every year a few kids are accepted in the summer as well. Chances are not good but it can happen
