my three friends and I who all applied to UCLA all got rejected.

Electrical Engineering
3.84
I know it’s the lack of multiple pre-reqs that killed me. Oh well if I end up applying next year it will be for math/econ with hopefully a slightly higher GPA and 100% pre-req completion.

There was a whole thread about people rejected from UCLA and accepted to Cal last year. It seems to me that some majors are HARDER to get into at UCLA than they are at Cal, especially if you take TAP out of the equation.

Oh my, that is quite the distance from Berkeley! It’s possible it’s only a local thing!? I dunno. They contacted me, I didn’t even know they existed! However, I never heard anything from a UCLA TAP program, so maybe the programs operate in their respective regions!? I dunno. Either way, good luck to you with Cal! Your GPA is still pretty strong, I wouldn’t hit that Vodka too hard just yet!

hahah em0kid. I don’t think it’s been around long enough for me to judge. I’d say its much more involved and doesn’t lift your chances as much as UCLA TAP, especially considering all the extras you have to do for it.

But that’s just my opinion.
My school doesnt have it but if it did, I would have taken advantage most likely.

Applying to UCLA was a last-minute whim. I only applied because my best friend asked me to do so. I’m from the Bay Area and Berkeley is my first choice so that’s where I put my energies (fulfilling Berkeley prereqs. and doing the Berkeley Starting Point Mentorship). I didn’t want to go to UCLA anyway, so I’m not too disappointed, but the rejection still stings.
