I was recently rejected from UNH with a 3.1 gpa unweighted, 1530 sat, and 100+ hours of community service. Some of my honors and activites were captain of the Varsity Swim team ( coaches award and most improved), going green club, and Italian club. I also have received honor roll for 3 years straight and had fantastic letters of recommendation. I was accepted into Penn State and SUNY Oswego which have much lower acceptance rates. Anyone have an answer?
I was accepted to their Business School. In terms of school involvement and EC’s, we are pretty similar, but I had over 200+ comm service hours logged in and I got a 27 on my ACT. UW GPA was a 3.16, and W was a 4.16. Also had a great essay and recommendation letter. I won’t be able to attend though since I’m OOS and after all the aid ($30k), it left me with a ~$13,500 bill.
Sorry to hear, but you still have great choices! I did just read that UNH had a record number of applicants this year; over 20,000 which is an increase of over 1,000 more than last year, with overall higher GPA’s and SAT’s. But they still accept the same amount. So, they rejected more this year, and their acceptance rate will have dropped. Good luck to you!
Penn State is wayyyyy better anyway. Hope you are in state though
pretty sad given the average intellect of students there
@Mcs109 I live in NH, have been accepted to UNH and applied to Penn State, still waiting to hear. Wish we could trade
Don’t see a 2021 thread so I’ll just post here.
Decision: Accepted
GPA/SAT: 3.6, 1230

Private Catholic school, no rank
Unfortunately I had applied to the Nursing School, but was only admitted into the Public Health program. Same situation at URI, btw, admitted but not to the Nursing school and was asked to pick another major. Since I am intent on studying nursing, this means no UNH or URI for me. Good luck to everyone else!
