<p>Hey you guys, sorry for the rejection! I was reading the thread and good grief, they certainly rejected/deferred a lot of great candidates. Go do something fun! </p>

<p>However (to female applicants), please don’t apply to Barnard for the sole sake of thinking it as a “back door” to Columbia. Apply because you really love the school…there are so many other fantastic schools as well to consider.

<p>I highly suggest not applying to Barnard. They are experiencing severe fiscal problems, and are not likely to recover. Their financial aid is going down, and their costs are going significantly up next year. Also, it’s just not a good thing to subject yourself to the inferiority complex of being next to Columbia. </p>

<p>I would never suggest that anyone go to barnard. Sounds like a terrible existence.</p>

I love how everyone stayed home grieving…</p>

<p>I don’t see the point of calling…that would just make you feel worse, and you have to keep your head up for other apps.</p>

<p>Well wouldnt it be better to find out WHY so you don’t make the same mistakes on other applications?</p>

<p>I didn’t end up calling. Isn’t it possible they could have rejected by mistake - for example, posted the wrong letter?</p>
