rejection e-mails

does anyone know what those look like? what should i expect in contrast to an acceptance e-mail just from looking at my inbox, obviously not from opening the email (i could probably tell the difference, then. haha)

emm....it would say that they are sorry or they could not take you?! usu u shud get a letter mailed to u. if by email...that's impossible to say..but i think they wudn't say it in the headline/subject area.

they are supposed to be skinnier

the exeter says something like: There are so many good canidates and we can't take everyone, although we believe you are qualified.

I have a feeling I'll be getting a couple of these

now that is pure anxious.
i dont think the email subject is going to be anything like "sorry you have to read this but here goes.."
itll just say decision notification
and then youll have to read on
theres no way you can tell from an email

oh, I meant the mailed letter

I did not receive an e-mail last year

ooh
yeah, supposively the whole myth of "a bigger envelope"
isnt always a myth.
but if you get a small envelope..dont break down
you never know, every school is different!

exeter's is small

I should know

aw im sorry.
did you get accepted to another place?
what were the other notifications like?
unless exeter was the only school

that was last year, there's a whole story behind it if you want to read my thread

I'm reapplying there as well as milton. Milton feels better, so hopefully that works out

no, well, i've heard that you can usually tell with e-mail notifications. for example, that acceptance emails headlines say something like: "A Note From the Admissions Office!" so i was just curious to see if there was a difference in a rejection email.

oh wow!
I can't wait for midnight of that day. I'm going to make it great alone.
I think I'll make like a documentary out if pics and writing etc.
ha, at least itll keep me up!
And then I'll make a sign saying the good or bad news and put it outside of my mothers door.

Ps, coffee will also be assisting me!

when do they send you the email ? Sometimes during the day or midnight of the day before ?

well for my school they send it 12:01 am on march tenth.

i hope you realize that no school in its right mind would send a rejection email.

why not?
how would you know?
isn't that like saying they wouldn't send a rejection "letter" ?

yeah.. what would be the difference between a rejection email and a letter?

yeah, you cant just not find out..
thank you, coolgirl.
=p

I don't think any schools that I know of send decision e-mails. I can't recall one. They had web site access and delivered materials to the home, but e-mail delivery...that's just not cool.

I'm curious...which schools are using e-mail to announce decisions?

I would have to assume that if you're learning about a decision by e-mail it would always be a negative decision. What school that wants a decent yield would break the good news to applicants via a measly old e-mail message? They can't even be sure that it will be displayed in HTML. It might just pop up on a Blackberry. And there's more of a concern about access and deletion before the intended recipient receives the news.

well, i've read about several different schools sending acceptance e-mails with music and pictures and just a really nice format. one, for example, being NMH. i think another was emma willard, but i'm not positive about that one. i'm just sure ive read about several schools doing that.

yeah im staying up to read mind from mercersburg, if its turns out it doesnt come..haha.. thatll suck...
