rejection stats?!

upenn, boston college, amherst, dartmouth, wellesley, tufts, northwestern, georgetown, brown.

UPenn, Brown, Georgetown, Dartmouth, Yale, UVA, Ohio State

UPenn, NYU, Cornell, Dartmouth, WashU, Johns Hopkins, Emory

what do you guys/girls think is the easiest ivy league to get into?
i dont think ill get into one, just curious.

Cornell Agriculture School...

Cornell, UPenn, Dartmouth, Northwestern, U. Chicago, NYU. Michigan, Johns Hopkins

My top three choices are UPenn, Dartmouth, and NW.

I'm gonna apply without Financial Aid to see if it makes a difference. :o

Although Cornell is very competitive, I've heard that it isn't as difficult to get into. The numbers speak for themselves- 31% acceptance rate. I think ED is ~50%. I'm gonna apply to USC, Georgetown, Loyola Marymount (Los Angeles), Tulane, Pepperdine, and have already applied to Fordham, UCLA, and St. John's. I don't think I'll waste my time OR money w/ anymore Ivies.

yeah- i have Penn State and SUNY as my safety cushion. Plus, i wud love to get into Penn state University park- which is their best campus (most competitive)...!....

UPenn, Tufts, Brown, Princeton, UVa, UC Berkeley, UC San Diego, Pomona College, U of Michigan, NYU, Barnard(though it would be painful to be so close to my rejected dream)

I hope I get into Penn/Dartmouth/Northwestern.... I think I didn't do a good job in presenting myself in my application. I believe I've definitely gotton better now.

Welsh- i dont know how to change my applications man?..howve u gotten better?..

That's nice. Unfotunately, not all of us have the glory to say "despite this.. I was accepted here _________." Keep that in mind next time.

The problem with most of you is that you're ALL THE SAME. Imagine how boring it must have been to read app and app and app of the same #'s, activities, etc. Everyone is a leader of this, captain of that. MAKE SURE YOU TELL THE RD ADMIN WHAT MAKES YOU STAND OUT.

i think u guys got rejected b/c there were too many "nerds" applying, they gotta keep the school "cool" so they need ppl like me with 1170 SAT I, 500- SAT IIs and gpa of 2.8
a lot of ecs:
county jail for 3 month
community service 200h (enforced by law)
5 arrests
founder of marijla club in the school
founder of thieves of HS.Inc
etc.

was that suppose to be funny?..cuz im not laughin..

anyways..yeh pigeon ..i guess ppl do focus on their grades too much and not their personality or something when it comes to writing the essay..NEVER LET SCHOOL BECOME YOUR LIFE!

Well, my Columbia application was the first one I ever did. Looking back, I never mentioned how many community service hours I had (280+), the type of work I did in China (working with NGOs), and a few other items that I think would have boosted my chances at Columbia a lot. Also, they didn't recieve my best teacher rec until December 1, so I'm not even sure if they read it or not before making decisions.

I waived my rights to read my recommendations as well, but I just have trust in my teachers/counserlor. My counselor was my JV football coach and I have maintained a pretty good relationship with him. I believe I've also maintainted a good relationship with my teachers.

Like pigeonblood said, I didn't do a good job in presenting my strengths. I'll keep this in mind for my RD applications.

hmm..but its soooo hard..ehhh

For some reason, I think it's super competitive this year, for early apps at least. I'm not really sure why, but I've only heard of one person (that I actually know personally) who's gotten into college so far. I've been hearing of rejections left and right. Maybe that's just me... Hopefully that means it'll be a little easier for RD's.

For Those Of You Considering Cc, It's Better To Be A Seas Accept Than A Cc Reject. Remember That. Besides, If You Are Really Obsessed With Cc, Transfer After A Year.

seas isnt a piece of cake to get into. u need to be a math/science oriented person.seas applicants usually have higher stats than cc applicants so dont make it out like seas is the backdoor into columbia
