Rejections: Class of 2007

Just got my rejection e-mail from Michigan...ah well...they kept me on for consideration, and that was nice...now time to move on.. :)

Sorry Kayla...know that hurts, but I feel something will be coming your way, for sure...

kaylagurl, I am sorry to hear about Michigan, as I know you are disappointed. But like lynnm, I feel sure that something really good is coming your way. Keep up your chin and your hopes. :)

Congrats to all, and Kayla, hang in there, you must be so diapponted, but I hope you appreciate that they were definitely considrering you!

Kayla hang in there, everything happens for reason, just trust that! :)
Just so everyone knows who is waiting to hear from Boston Conservatory, they will let everyone know on March 30

I thought someone said we'd hear from BOCO by the 23rd!

I think BoCo is the 1st of April.

so like, a letter from Syracuse came yesterday and I was totally convinced that it was the admissions decision but NO. can I just complain for like 30 seconds about that? okay. end complaint.

Kayla,

I am so sorry about UM! Hang in there!!! Good things ahead!

Yea, I heard we'd hear online on the Friday from Boco. A select few individuals have been hearing a little earlier regarding rejections and acceptances a la email.

I called BoCo this morning and asked them, because I need to send a 700 non-refundable deposit into a school by April 1st, so I was curious if I would have to make the decision without hearing from Boston and it looks like I will. If we hear on Friday, that'd be amazing, but the admissions office told me March 30th

Kayla, I'm so sorry. You have several to hear from, right?

Kayla,so sorry about UM...I know you must be disappointed but I also know (from reading your other posts) that you have many other paths you will be able to choose...how many schools are you waiting to hear from??

Hey you guys..thank you so much :) I'm ok, I'm just trying not get my hopes up for any more schools..lol, cause it seems to be easier that way...yea I still have a quite a few schools to hear from.. kay

Best wishes on your surgery. Hang in there with your waiting (and please come back online if you get exciting news).

Kayla,
Wishing you the best. Take care of yourself with the surgery. Remember, you have the majority of your schools to still hear from and so you can't judge your outcome on very few decisions so far. Remember, too, that you applied to some of the most competitive programs out there and so at those programs, they are difficult odds for everyone. Thus, you gotta look at the total picture. I cannot tell if you applied to any non audition BA schools. Anyway, remember, what happens at one school is not necessarily indicative of what happens at another. Time and time again, I observe someone who got into X program but not Y program and then another person got into Y but not X. Or sometimes I see people who got into more renown college A but did not get admitted to good but less well known program B. So, hang in there for the total outcome. You only need one school and the odds are tough (for anyone) at most of the programs you chose and you have yet to hear from many. Keep the faith. This step will soon be done and things will work out.

DramaLady415.. I also havent recieved anything from Syracuse.. i'm dying!

what does it mean if you havent heard back this late from them? anyone have any idea?

i called uarts and they told me i was in the last bunch of people and now they just have to make the final cut, so i guess thats good. i just nneeedd to hear from someone soon! its so hard.

I got my rejection letter from Uarts yesterday. I have been rejected from 3 of my 4 schools I applied to for MT. Hopefully i'll get into BOCO. If not, there's always next year :-)

Broadwaybelter, hang in there! You may just be getting the news you have been waiting for from BoCo! Your attitude (if not this year, then next) is commendable. I am not sure if you were on this list a year or so ago, but if you were not, read back through various threads for a story posted by the mom of a girl who did not get into any programs the first year out. This young lady enrolled (I hope I have this right!) at a local college and spent a year training hard. The following year, she reauditioned and got in everywhere, including CMU, from which she has now graduated.

I'm hoping for BOCO for you BroadwayBelter. I don't know if you applied to some BAs to balance the list of only four BFAs. So, I don't know if you don't get BOCO if you intend to go to a BA school and transfer or to take a GAP year. No need to be deciding or thinking that way yet.

NotMamaRose is right that there have been people who did not get in the first time around but had success on the second try. The girl she is referring to didn't get into most of her BFAs but did attend one at Northern Colorado (if that is not the name, it was a MT program in Colorado, her home state) and the folowing year got into many BFAs and eventually attended CMU. As well, there are a few other people here who did not get in the first year. Some then took a GAP year which included more training and reapplied. One went to Neighborhood Playhouse, one went to BOCO, and so on. I know someone else from two years ago on CC who didn't get into any of her BFAs but got into the BA in MT program at American. My girls' local friend didn't get into her BFAs but got into Indiana (which was only a BA program at that time) and loves it. I don't know your other options but trust me, there are always options. Things do not "end" with college admissions.

PS...while many applicants truly want a four year college degree, understandably, I will just put out there that there is the option of applying to and attending a very good MT two year program: Circle in the Square Theater Program. Again, there are always options. I don't know anything about you in terms of "fit" for your needs.

I still haven't heard anything from Syracuse!
