melissarahman,

it is still worth submitting your application to ohio wesleyan online. it is free. i know it is past the deadline but you've got nothing to lose...except for one more rejection. a friend of mine did apply there past the deadline and the application was considered...but his credentials were outstanding.

thnx rolio...will do that....

i know i am stating the obvious but this time sux!!! i hate seeing ppl who deserve so much get zilch....keep up ur head kiddoo...luv ya

I hate it that knowledge is a commodity. I TRULY want to study, and I think that many of you will agree with such sentiment. I want to go ahead and make my future better and try to make others' better... but I know that the way our world is headed we somehow need to get like amazing colleges, etc, etc. (Despite many people arguing the converse).
I know this sounds like a Miss Universe pageant response... but.. I DO want to learn, I DO want to carry on studying, but I don't have the money!!!
I was wailisted for WashU, as well... I have no money. Having a predicted 45 for the IBs definately does ont cut it. :( Good luck everyone!

pomelinacs, why don't you study then, if you want to? Why do you need to go to some WashU to study? You can study by yourself, and for yourself. Naturally, you can reply that "going to WashU(or some other good place) I get good professors, many opportunities etc."... well, you're right, and it can easily be seen that knowledge, unfortunately, IS a commodity (as you said), which not everyone can get easily. Those professors can't teach millions of kids at once, those opportunities are finite, thus limited.
I believe that the right way to look at this situation is:
Education/Knowledge is an investment. If you don't have what to invest, then you're in trouble (no money). But if you have a brilliant business plan (e.g. you're very smart and promissing) then there will be people (unis) who will invest(give FinAid) in your business (knowledge/education).

I hope it's clear what I meant.

hey...is it okay to email the colleges now and directly ask for the decisions??
cuz some colleges dont use email....like occidental posted their decisions yesterday and it'll be at least 9 days before i get it sitting here in bangladesh......and having to wait sux as we all know.......and plus there's nothing to lose really right? if i am accepted they will not reject me for this and if i am rejected...well...end of story...
What do you all think??

i wonder if theyll answer individual queries . . no harm trying tho

yea....guess i'll start sending out the mails now...will say if anything happens....

on a sidenot, u all might want to check out this article i came across :

melissarahman: you could e-mail them now, informing that you would appreciate it if they could send you the decision via e-mail. just don't tell them that they e-mail you now the decision :D
