Relative at Cornell

Will it increase my chances of admission, if i have a relative of mine studying already at cornell ?

PS. im international and my relative too.

Please reply ASAP guys.

Traditionally, you will hear that any legacy “bonus points” should be used for the ED round. That’s where they count. If you go RD, it will seem to admissions that you weren’t certain about Cornell or had another first choice. Legacy on the application is: parent, grandparent, great grandparent. There’s no place to put a relative not in one of those categories. My guess is “current sibling” could be reference somewhere. I don’t know.

A sibling may be a plus.

If you have a relative, work that into “why Cornell” essay. You won’t be a legacy, but you may appear to be knowledgeable of Cornell. My older daughter went to Cornell, and our younger kid mentioned it in her essay. I think Cornell likes siblings.
