Are the students overly religious at Nova? I'm not a religious person, and don't really want to be a part of a religious student body. Thanks

They are not overly religious. No one is going to force their beliefs on you. Yes, there are masses and you do have to take a couple theology classes, but the classes are as far as you have to go. As long as you are okay with being around a religious society, it really doesn’t affect much. The one good thing that comes from it is that the students are very involved in volunteer work. I am not Catholic and it works perfectly fine with me. Many students do go to mass, but there are also many that do not.

Wait you are forced to take a theology class?

^I think most, if not all, Catholic colleges have a core curriculum which includes among others theology. As a religous person, I feel I am on the other side of the spectrum and think many students at Villanova are not too catholic or religious. For example, I think the catholic culture is more pervasive at Notre Dame than at Villanova.

You have to take an intro theology class, Christian Faith and Life. Most students take an upper level theology course as well, but there are ways to get around that one. The class really isn’t imposing their religion on you either, it’s more just about what they believe as well as what other religions believe.
