How does religion play into life at SCU?
If you are a Jew/Athiest/Muslim could you really feel at home there?

yes.. well theres a big catholic chapel there.. but unless your easily offended you'll fit in. My sister knows a muslim at santa clara and shes a atheist herself. The profs there don't preach religion.. cause my sister wrote a paper on evolution for her class.

From their literature, it appears that only about 1/2 of the students at SC are Catholic. My son isn't a strong Catholic & neither are many of the folks we know who attend & are happy at SC.

great, thanks.

what about catholic jokes? not appropriate at santa clara?

;)

well no jokes about religion is appropriate if your telling it to a catholic.. if its amongst your friends who will not be offended then why not? free speech

We are not Catholic. SCU is my daughter's top choice school. Religion courses are required but there are dozens of great choices to choose from. There is a Catholic presence on the campus, I was told by a friend who works there, but all faiths are welcomed and in many ways it is a very ecumenical campus.
