i'm an atheist, and i know the school is jesuit...are almost all students catholic there? are people of other religions (and in my case no religion) accepted by their peers?

I believe it’s 50/50, if not less on the religion. I’ve talked to several LMU students who say that religion is not an extreme part of campus. I talked to the Gay-straight alliance at LMU as well, and they said they’ve never experienced any sort of discrimination. So, I’m assuming that LMU is very accepting of different cultures, religions, etc… Plus… it’s in L.A!!

thanks! i hope that’s true. :)

also do they consider your religion when deciding whether or not to admit you? i said “other” in my religious background cuz there was no option for atheism or secular humanism. and in my common app essay, i mentioned that two causes i strongly support are debunking myths associated with atheism and also working to end discrimination against bisexuals. would they frown upon this? (i mean, if they WOULD reject me cuz of that, obviously i wouldn’t want to go anyway, but i’m just curious.)
