Reminding teachers

What's a polite way to remind teachers of writing recommendation letters?

“Would you be comfortable writing me a letter of recommendation for college?”

Nevermind, didn’t notice that it was reminding, not asking.

In that case, I’d just ask about their progress.

“Have you had a chance to submit my recommendation letters?”

If the answer is “yes,” then you need to ASAP give the teachers a handwritten thank-you note.

If they haven’t gotten around to it, politely remind them of the due date and ask them if there is any other information you can provide that would help them do the letters.

Maybe I’m old fashioned, but I’d go with the “note tied to a brick through the window in the middle of the night” method…
