Thanks everyone for all your advice! I have one more day till the final decisions and I haven't finalized it yet.

Rochester REMS - the double-helix curriculum of their medical school allows me to have much more clinical experience (four years) than the traditional two year clinical experience at the PLME.

UofR bumped up my scholarship to half tuition

REMS seems to have a much more personal advising team - with Dr.Nobay and her team - perhaps more opportunities?

great residency matchings

MD/MBA program - 5 years of grad school (1 yr simon school of business, 4 yrs at the URMC med school)

BROWN PLME: - More well-known than UofR

great residency matchings

more relaxed undergrad (no GPA requirement except for a few classes of A and B)

a more carefree undergraduate life

more accessible campus than UofR (with malls, buses, trains, thayer street within walking distance)

it's really a tough decision! Sometimes I really want to pick REMS because of the double-helix curriculum, but then I think about Brown, and I know I will look back (if i pick REMS) and think - Wow. I cannot believe i gave up that more relaxed, carefree undergrad life.

if i went to Brown, I'd think - Wow.. Dom, you gave up on a really good med school, good advisors, and great opportunities..

Does anyone know anything about opportunities at PLME?

I would pick PLME in a heartbeat. Having talked to numerous college students both in programs and otherwise along with medical students, one of the things I heard over and over again was how important the undergraduate experience is. Brown provides a much more diverse and well-rounded undergraduate environment than University of Rochester. When I visited UR this winter, the students seemed cold, stressed, and depressed. The weather was horrible as well!! Brown on the other hand (I haven't visited, but I presume you have) seems to put great effort into selecting students who are intellectually curious, diverse and laid-back. Providence is also a nice little city that has the best of both worlds (small town feel, yet lots of entertaining activities). With that said, good luck in making your decision!

Btw, Brown Med School is comparable (if not better) than UR's med school. Brown Med School is actually ranked higher (31) than UR School of Medicine (36).
