Rems

Did anyone else do the early medical scholar program?

Yup, I did. I just got that letter today, thanking me for applying to the program. I guess I'll have to wait til later this month to hear anything more.

I just got a special "Saturday Delivery" in the mail saying that I am a finalist for it. 450 applied and they picked 55. Yaysies for me!

Congratulations, slipstream99, on your selection. I guess you already know that there are 10 openings for REMS.

This is almost as selective as Curtiss & Julliard. ;-)

Thanks! I'm really excited about it. I thought that I didn't even have a sliver of a chance of making it, so I am very pleasantly surprised.

What is Curtiss & Julliard? I've heard of Julliard and I know that they have an acceptance rate of 8%, but I can't find Curtiss & Julliard anywhere. And the acceptance rate for REMS is 2.2% (10/450), no?

Not that it's relevant here, but Curtiss is a music conservatory. I always heard they were the most selective school followed by Julliard... I thought it was less than 1%... but whatever. BTW, 450 is a "down year" compared to their web site which says they usually get 600. Good luck.

US News says Curtis Institute of Music has a 3% acceptance rate - the lowest in the country. Juilliard School is second most selective at 7%.
