Hello all!

I am currently considering which school I should attend, and I have it between Louisiana State University (with an offer from their honors college) and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. I am planning to major in Computer Science, and I want to know if anyone here is a CS student at either University? Also, I plan to do ROTC at whichever school I go to, especially RPI. I could probably pay for LSU if necessary with the scholarships I already have, but RPI is famously expensive.

Anyways, all I really want to know is if the CS coursework is a huge workload (or at least more than the standard for either school,) and if you find that you feel prepared for any computer-based career.

Thanks in advance!

What did your FA package from RPI contain? What are your parents saying about affording RPI?

I received the leadership award, and nrotc will cover everything if I get a unit placement there. They aren’t too worried about the cost, but I am in the event that my scholarship goes sour for some reason.

When do you find out if you have placement at RPI?

no clue, but likely sometime soon. I’m just wanting to know if anyone is a student at either school, and if they could comment on the program.

If the Army is paying for either school, I would probably opt for RPI.

Good luck though. LSU has a gorgeous campus.

It’s the Navy paying for it :)

I’ve been to LSU before, and I agree, but I haven’t been able visit RPI. Has anyone on here ever been there?
