Report slams Illinois public university policy

<p>The headline (click the link to see the actual headline; the link text is different) seems somewhat misleading. The article lists a number of factors that could well lead to the "quality of Illinois universities" declining, but it doesn't really offer any evidence that the quality of the education being offered at the schools has indeed declined.</p>

<p>Biggest reasons for more costs are lower state aid to colleges. Hardly takes a genius to know that. Most states in same boat. I see no major problem in Chicago firms getting needed talent. There are lots of schools in the midwest that supply Chicago with good people. No need to grow all their own. NYC has no problem getting top talent from outside NYC either.</p>
