It says that we need to bring street shoes.....what do you think they have in mind for thoses?

I am bringing a pair of X-Training shoes. Has anyone received their medical forms? (Blue/Yellow Forms p. 21 of "Logging In")

Nope...havent got the medical forms yet. And I know that we are issued tennis shoes...so thats why I'm unsure if thats what we should bring or something else.

I received my medical forms last week...late last week.

came today, as well as the naval science packet

Jamz got the two packages today too. YAHOO! More paper work for you guys. Jamz is at the beach this week and will love it when he learns that he has to get one more shot to complete his stuff! Glad its you guys and not me! :) Flynavy....From what I can figure, they advise you to come in a good pair of running shoes so that you'll have two pair. No telling what they'll make you do in the pair they give you. Water and mud will probably be involved to be sure! Are ya'll excited yet!? Stay safe everybody, don't get any speeding tickets, don't get hurt, and keep working out! One month and seven days til INDOC!!

speeding tickets? what do they do to you for that?

We were told that with the security check, speeding ticket/s will show up. The thing is....Don't worry if you've had a speeding ticket. However if it was a big bad large fine, something might come into question that you may have to provide an answer too. ={ Sorry! Didn't mean to scare you!!! There are lots of you out there that have gotten one. Just be careful all the way around guys! I wasn't told anything by the academy about this. Just a friend who is in the "know". No worries!!!

since im too lazy to start a new thread, i'll just say it here. I got letter inviting me to a luncheon for candidtates at chicago yacht club on the 25th (maybe, im not so sure about the date). Its for the Great Lakes region, and I was curious if anyone else here was planning to attend.

hey just curious, what hotel is everyone staying at the night(s) beore indoc starts? i was thinking about staying at the Inn at Great Neck, but i havent made any reservations yet.

I get to drive there...woot, actually the one thing I am having some trouble with is deciding WHEN to tackle that paper work...that's an "ugh."

yeah, the security questionairre really blows. i just need to send in all the medical info

I think I'm staying at the East Norwich Inn, we stayed there before......and I got invited to the luncheon for candidtates at chicago yacht club I'm not sure if I'll be able to go. I think I'm going to tackle the medical forms first then the security questionairre....... the medical forms have a deadline and the questionairre just has to be sent before we report, right?

From what I can figure, do your med stuff first. They want it all by the 15th. Do the security email file then the other documents will go with you to be turned in at Indoc. Be sure to get a notarized copy of your certified birth certificate, before you send in the original, to turn in during indoc with the other stuff.

Flynavy, I am staying at the East Norwich Inn. Try to confirm that you are staying there and maybe we can work out a ride together.

anyone else besides jamz and I staying at the ADRIA hotel? one more thing, are we supposed to bring fans with us? everyone in pics from the I-day from the class of 2008 seems to have some sort of fan, but then again i don't know if the barracks have been renovated with AC

3rd and 4th Company have A/C. On the parent's page it gives info on the fan. Also, try to rig a handle to the box, that is what is advised.

Jamz opted for a small desk top fan that fits in his bag so that he doesn't have to lug it around. Don't forget the extension cord I've heard. Jamz was emailed a list of all the people going from this state. He will get to meet them on July 26 at a cook-out. Have any of you heard from your parent's assoc. and are they going to get you all together so you can meet? Just curious.

yeah we have a luncheon for the Great Lakes region on June 25th. Im also thinking of getting a small desk fan rather than a floor fan (i also heard they are selling them at the ships store)

Hey! You guys already have a lucky star following you. I just got an email saying that the laundry fairy will be visiting you at the Academy. This is the first year ever that midshipmen won't have to do their own laundry. YAY! No quarters for the washing machine plus the time doing it all! Of course, costs for this will be included in your fees..... BUT STILL! YAY for ya'll!
