Someone really needs to take ownership of the Kings Point web site. Under " Midshipman life", it reads: " the class of 2010 is hoping to be recognized by Spring!" 2 years out of date?!!!! Come one, KP, let's make the web site look good. Potential candidates are viewing it for a feeling of what it is like to attend KP.

I just spoke to the chief information officer of USMMA and he told me that the web site has not been updated in 4 years! The reason is that they are on a skeleton staff and there is no money for this right now. Hopefully, with the increase in funding that Admiral Worley is obtaining, this will change in the near future. Parents and alumni, please mention this to the Admiral when you see him. KP should be seen in the best possible light.

Amen to that! At least they have been making the effort to keep the parent’s page up to date. Thanks, Shirley!

nmlcfp: While I agree it would be great if the website was more current, the website [United States Merchant Marine Academy](http://www.usmma.edu) has a ton of good information, it can and does provide great info that is accurate to folks interested in KP. Additionally, the numerous local admissions field reps can be found there and contacted as can the admissions office. In any case, in this economy and with increasing numbers of applications, truthfully the USMMA has no problem finding the approx 300 folks - all of whom are very qualified and all of whom very much want the highly subsidized great education they recieve if they are among the 10-20% lucky enough to recieve an appointment.

Asking them to work a little bit to get the information they need doesn’t seem like that much.
