Reporting Scores

Okay, so here's my dilemma:

I'm filling out the common app for Harvard and Yale. The problem is I sent my ACT score to harvard and not yale, and I don't feel like paying money to send my scores to yale (I have the sat scores sent, so this should be fine).

Should I write down my ACT scores on the commonapp?
Either
1) Harvard will think I'm hiding my scores if I don't report them
2) Yale will think I made up the scores if I do report them
Is there a nice solution to this? Thanks for any help!

Yes, there is a nice solution...pay the money to send them to Yale....

You have to pay for EACH school. So sending to Yale won't cost you more than sending to Harvard did.

Self-report and then the official report confirms. Without an official score report, your file will not be complete and they will be unable to consider you for admission.

That said, WHY ARE YOU SENDING BOTH SCORES? Pick one.

Ah, well, the thing is, I sent my ACT scores to Harvard as one of the four free reports they give you when you (I'm cheap like that). The problem is, Yale wasn't one of those 4 for the ACT but was for the SAT (I change my mind often), and I don't want to pay the $10 fee or bother with the forms to send the ACT score to Yale, especially when my ACT was worse than my SAT. Any suggestions?

I will now take the opportunity to bump this thread.

Perhaps it would be easier if we give an approximately equivalent question: is it necessary/expected that you self-report all sent scores? Gracias!

You have to send the actual proof in order for them to consider those scores in good faith.

Cough up the $10.

Yeah... Just have your parents pay the $10... You are making this WAY more complicated than it should be. You have to pay money to apply to colleges so just do it and quit thinking of ways around it.

Sorry, but if your thinking about saving 10$ by not sending your ACT scores to yale, then you don't deserve to go to either college.

If you do, then your work ethic is normal for any human being on the planet.

Seriously, if you want to have any chance at getting into those colleges - dont be the laziest thing ever to crawl into existence

Hi, filletwho, I expect you'll have reasonably good admission results, but, really, just report all scores to all colleges you are interested in. List all your scores on your applications. Colleges like complete information like that. As long as the college doesn't feel like you're trying to hide the ball, your scores should be just one of several great aspects of your applications.

(I'm already thinking about this same issue. I'd rather spend the money for ice cream for my children--or beer for myself ;) --but really just pay the fee, send the scores officially, write the scores unofficially on your applications, and let everything match up. It'll all be over by the end of this school year, as long as you get accepted somewhere.)

haha, okay guys, you've made me feel bad enough to pay $10 (which isn't easy, I'm notoriously cheap). And thanks, tokenadult, for understanding.

no prob ^__^

Oh my gosh.... I'll just give you the $10.

Or filletwho, you could always just get a job. I can hook you up. ;)
