My son is THRILLED to have been admitted to McCormick for the class of 2018. We are hoping that a Northwestern parent or student could put us in contact with a current student or recent grad who has experience managing severe food allergies. My son has life threatening allergies to dairy, egg, and peanuts, and would like to learn how someone else has managed at Norhtwestern. We have learned that all dining services say that they accommodate allergies, but some do not have workable plans in place. Since eating is one of his regular habits, this is a major factor in determining the school he will attend.

I would suggest getting in touch with NU Health Services. Here is a link to their contact page:

There must be someone there with whom you can discuss this. NU is a big school, and they must certainly have other students with these severe food allergies. Good luck to your son! My daughter is graduating from McCormick in June. :)

Yes, I have a call in to the person who handles special dietary needs. I’m not sure that they will pass along student contact info, but that would be ideal. Congratulations to your daughter on her upcoming graduation!
