Hello,
I am a Sophomore Student in WNY currently taking Algebra II and Chemistry (Already took Earth Science). I enjoy learning specifically in Science and Math (Though I found Biology pretty boring and probably won’t pursue it too much and Geometry felt stale)
Background Info:
I attempting to furthermore challenge myself and wish to take my Algebra II Regents Exam in January, and finish my PreCalculus Course by my Junior Year. This will allow me to take AP Physics as long as I properly read over Regents Physics material and put me in Calculus next year. Based of my own personal research I have heard that while you can take Regents Exams early and get “credit” for the course- you don’t get a course grade and such which you would get if you take the course in the regular amount of time on my transcript.
Questions:
- How important is “taking the course” and having a grade for it; or is taking the Regents Exam and thus showing I understand the subject to a certain extent enough?
- Are their any other avenues to furthermore advance my studies which the good people of Community Confidential would recommend using?
- How well are online courses accepted among Colleges/Universities? Would an IRL course weigh significantly more in College/Universities Eye’s when looking at transcripts?
- General Thoughts/Advice?
Thank you for your time and/or response! Any advice or thoughts are appreciated.
