Hi, I just received the packet for Penn housing and I was wondering if it is possible to request more than one particular roommate (assuming of course they are request you/each other as well).

Specifically, we were looking to apply to a Harisson/Harnwell quad as a trio, or a triple in Stouffer-Mayer. On the housing booklet it said you could request one roommate, but I just wanted to know if anyone had an experience with choosing more than a single roommate. Thanks for your help :)

It is very unlikely that you will get a triple and all but impossible to get a quad with only three roommates… these rooms are all apartments which are in high demand among upperclassmen, who have priority.

What if we applied for the freshmen experience program at Harrison? I heard that the odds of getting in are much higher with a residential program.

EXCELLENT CHOICE ZAGRUSS!! I’m in Fresh Ex this year and it’s amazing and tons of fun.

However, all Fresh-Exers (at least this year) are either housed in two bedroom doubles (w/o kitchen), one bedroom double w/ kitchen, or 3 bedroom quads w/ kitchen. So maybe if you all apply you can get into one room, but you’ll definitely have another person there with you.

I don’t know if it is possible to request more than one roommate (at least when I applied 2 years ago we were limited to one I believe…)

And what FightingQuaker said about Harrison is right (I was in FreshEx too; definitely worth it!); the other rooms on the FreshEx floors are for upperclassmen who help out with the program.
