requirement

is there a college that dont require foreign language to graduate
espectially in california or other parts of nation..

or does that depends on major?

I think every college requires foreign language.

Some colleges don't have a core at all.

Yes there are, but it may depend on what you are majoring in. Also, there are some schools that may allow you to study about a different culture (in English) and this will fulfill all, or part of the foreign language requirement. There are a few schools, I believe, that would allow you study sign language to fulfill foreign language requirements. Some college guides do list if you must take a foreign language, and then you can call and ask the schools that you are interested in. Someone that graduated about 12 years ago told me that at one of the colleges he attended, he was able to take foreign language Pass/Fail. He was allowed one P/F class per semester, and it could not be in a class needed for his major, but fine for core class requirements. This is how he got his foreign language requirement completed. I know someone else who was required one culture class, and one semester of a foreign language. To fulfill the foreign language, he saved it until senior year, b/c he knew it would be unpleasant for him. The stayed for a mini semester in December/January and took Russian for 4 hours per day for 3 weeks. He earned a B, but it did cost extra for the dorm room and the class (an expensive route).

thanks..........

Your welcome. One more thing that I should have mentioned...Often a Bachelor of Arts (BA) requires proficiency in a foreign language and can also require some other humanities courses, and a Bachelor of Science (BS) requires an extra math/science/even social science class, but usually not foreign language.
