Requirements to be a Property/Real Estate Developer

Hello, I am a first-year architecture student at UT San Antonio. When I graduate with my BS Arch I want to go to Texas A&M to get a dual masters in property development and architecture(or urban planning). I want to be a dual property developer and architect/or planner. Architects and planners both require a masters degree. Anyway I wanted to know if property developers require or recommend a real estate license. I have done some research and some sites say I don’t need a salesperson or brokers license and some say I do. I need to know now because of required architecture internships that I have to take after my sophomore year, only leaves me this summer to get my salesperson license. Also, if I need a license, what is a good online course for Texas real estate? I have looked at UT and Kaplan. Would it be worth having this license or should I just take a few business courses at my school or get a business minor? I am not really interested in selling property but developing land. Thank you for all of your time, help and suggestions.
