i'm really sorry if this has already been posted but i couldn't find anything related to what i was looking for. My question is what are the requirements for USNA and what can i do to prepare for it. I'm going to be a sophmore and my GPA is something between a 95 and 97. I'm in JROTC drill team and hold the battalion CSM position. i don't compete in any sports. My physical condition is pretty good. i would really appreciate your advice. Thank you.

Start.

you have plenty of time to prepare, as Zaphod said, get involved in some kind of organized school sport. And spend a lot of time searching through these forums. 97% of your questions can be answered on here without even making a post its quite amazing. Scan through all the endless "chances?" threads they'll give you a good idea when it comes to stats.

Check out usna.edu. Lots of helpful information there. I believe you can either order a catalog or download one. Read it cover to cover.

Here's a link to a helpful book by William Smallwood. It's "The Naval Academy Candidate Handbook". I think you'll find it helpful. And good luck. You're smart to get started this early.

Also- find out when and where your local Senators and Congressmen are holding meetings about the different Academies. At least in Ohio, they had a parents meeting in the fall where many sophmores and juniors came with their parents to get information.

Check out the most recent class profile. It will give you an idea of what qualities the academy is looking for. Leadership, Service, Character, Academics and Physical Fitness/Aptitude are high on the list.
