hey
i will probably end up with a D in my AP biology class for 3rd quarter. i got accepted to biological sciences. what are the chances that i get resciened?

You have to report it right away and it may affect you. Try to work with the teacher and study a lot if possible.

could i seriously get rescined?? just for a D? i have like AAABBBD

^Yes, they can rescind for a D, but there is hope. Contact them immediately. Here’s a super old article, but it might provide some guidance:

[UC Davis Magazine, Fall 2004: Parents](http://www-ucdmag.ucdavis.edu/issues/fall04/parents.html)

Hopefully you’ll be able to retake course during the summer?

Here are the conditions I found on the website.

Quoted from UC Davis’ (web)site:
1.
Maintain Academic Performance

Continue to academically achieve at the same level upon which your admission was based. You must complete all courses listed on your admission application for the 12th grade with grades of “C” or better, and graduate from high school. “Pass” grades are NOT acceptable.

2.
Report Any “D” or “F” Grades and Dropped Courses

If you receive any grade lower than “C” or drop any course(s), you have not met your conditions of admission and must immediately submit an explanation, to our MyAdmissions Web site along within your plans to repeat or make up the course(s). If you have previously informed us of your “D” or “F” grade(s) or dropped course(s) by mail or e-mail, you will still need to provide an explanation at this Web site.

I believe you have to make it up and report ASAP.

What do they mean by “dropped courses?” I’m taking a class, but not for grade or pass/fail credit, since I decided to destress second semester. It’ll still show up on my transcript as a taken class.

i have heard that if you report it and explain it, they are not going to rescine you for just one D?

one more question. do you have to report them if you got a D or F in “semesters” or “quarters”, because i may bring up my grade by the end of second semester but for the third “quarter” i may have a D

Semesters, since they only show up in your final transcript. Quarter grades should not matter.

so if i end up having a D for third quarter i shouldn’t be worried right?

Nope, just consider yourself a warning sign to kick that grade up to a C!

Do your quarter grades show up on your official transcript or only your semester grades? If only semester grades show up, then do not worry and just bring that grade up before the end of the year and semester.

thank you guys so much. now i can really feel like a person who will go to UC Davis. i’m so happy.

Yay, go Shayant, and me too! I’m going to visit Santa Cruz and Davis first, since I think both are good fits, but I’m so relieved! Go Aggies!

i’m still waiting for berkeley and stanford though

shayant, i am in the same position as you.
D in AP Bio and i got in for biological sciences

good luck!
