The prompt is as follows: If you have participated in any significant research activity outside of school, please provide a brief description and limit your response to one or two paragraphs.

In this section, do you write morals you learned from your research activity? Or do you write about your research project itself, almost like an abstract? I am not entirely sure. However, since Duke is a research institution, I feel I should write my response almost like an abstract. Any opinions?

My situation was a bit strange. I intern at a private research lab for Alzheimers/MS…they’re VERY secretive with their research, so I obviously was not allowed to give even an abstract. I just wrote about the types of procedures I do, what I’ve learned, etc. I think either one is good.

Thanks for your help! I researched at a university so they are not as secretive! Rather, my mentor is very encouraging and wants me to send my abstract.

Yeah, that’s not as secretive haha. The other issue, also, was that I helped in research for a ton of different small projects. I didn’t work on one single thing, I sorta meddled in a bunch of different things, whatever came up that day etc. So that complicates things, more!
