Research....but not in my field

Hey guys
So im a freshman ,and i've bene looking to get a job in a lab for the winter (which i realize is kind early but w/e) anyways, one lab already contacted me, and said they'd be willing to tkae me from witner break onwards. only catch, it's like ecology, and I want to be a biomedical researcher. now i realize beggars can't be choosers, especially since im a first year, and with no research experience whatsoever, but should i take the job, or wait it out till iget better ones. i'd liek to ideally pursue an md/phd, so getting lots of research experience is a must. thanks for your help!

i say get whatever yo u can get. haha.. ecology research is better than nothing. but that's what i think..

dude TAKE IT...ecology has a lot to do with med...and dont be picky

I'm premed, and I decided on an Ecology assitantship... if it makes you feel any better, heh. I don't really know much about how it woudl be looked upon by med schools though

Are you being sarcastic?

It doesnt matter what your research is in right now. It's considered an EC, or transcript notation. Med schools will just want to see that you're doing something, and it looks like you are. So don't worry about it.

hey guys thanks for your replies. Hmm it seems as if I should take this up, but i wanna emphasize that in addition to getting research and having it look good on my resume for med school (esp for md/phd), i wanna make sure that the biomedical career is the right choice for me ya know? so it's kinda tough b/c i wanna kill two birds w/ one stone w/ my research choices.
