research experience for masters program?

how much do undergraduate research experience matter for applications to masters program? Would it matter matter less than apps for Phd programs since masters programs have less to do with research? Thanks

anyone know anything about this??

It really depends on the program. It definitely helps for a Master's program with a thesis, but it is not necessary. I was accepted with no Undergraduate research experience. I would say that it would matter more for a Ph.D program because you are expected to perform at a higher level.

It depends on the departments. Many schools view their masters program intended for "professional/industry" and hence undergrad research experience is irrelevant. Others treat their masters as a stepping stone to a PhD so they will look for "research potential" of a candidate.
