Research experience; those of you who got accepted to harvard, please answer my q :)

Hi, im a junior and will apply for harvard next year. I was wondering if i need to have research experience to get into harvard. I live in canada, and here, there isn't much opportunity for research... :(

I find it difficult to believe that there aren't many research opportunities in the entire country, nor anything you can do in the US as a Canadian citizen. But anyway. No, you don't need research experience, most people don't have any. But many people whose selling point is science do.

well, for one im not a citizen/landed immigrant here, im just a foreign student...and in edmonton, there really isn't that much opportunity...there was one and i missed it :(:( and yes..my strong point is science..

Your best bet would be the Canada-Wide Science Fair. Alberta always has a strong showing. Edmonton definitely has a regional fair, so participate in that and try your hardest to be selected as a member of Team Edmonton to the CWSF.

YOu should only consider doing research if science is your passion. Following your passion(s), taking them to the highest level you can, is what Harvard is looking for...there is no one way that they define doing that.

I didn't have any...

Coolness_rookie what highschool do you go to??????
