Research Opportunities for an Undergraduate

<p>Hi, I'm an undergrad looking to do basic science research (neuro, cell bio, immunology maybe) during the summer at a university in NYC--preferably Weill Cornell Medical College, Rockfeller, or Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons. I've realized that I'm probably not going to be continuing my high school research (which was actually at weill cornell), so I'm not really sure what to do. Most deadlines for summer research programs have already passed. Is the next logical step to just visit the different department websites at each university and then email scientists one by one after reading their work?</p>
