Are there a lot of research opportunities for undergrads at UCLA? Or does anyone know which UC has the most researh opportunities.
DD at Davis started some research in a lab environment as a sophomore.
I don’t know about other UC’s, but from what I’ve seen here there’s a pretty good amount of opportunities. I and most of my friends (certainly all the ones going into research after undergrad) have found labs within the first two years, and are doing research projects their junior/senior years. The undergrad research center here has research position openings on their website that are constantly updated with faculty listings, and there’s always the “email several faculty in the department” route that I used to get into a lab. I don’t personally know anyone who tried to find a lab and couldn’t. I’m in the neuroscience department and have friends in neuroscience, physci, physics, and MCDB, so I can’t attest to other departments.
