Research Option?

<p>As an incoming freshman I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on this program, as well as the Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program at Tech. I've been reading up on it, but I'd also like the opinion of people who are actually at Tech. I'm very interested in research (in Computer Science, and more specifically Theory) as a whole, and I've been pretty set on becoming a research scientist ever since I was about thirteen when I created my first program. Some of my questions include...</p>

<p>When do people usually start participating in something like this? (I'd like to as soon as possible)</p>

<p>What are the logistics of the process? (I mean, I know that you need to write a proposal, thesis, oral presentation, etc. But besides that, is there anything else I should know about it, such as recommended courses, etc.)</p>

<p>Any personal experiences?</p>
