intelliot, CEE will post the reason.

are you sure? if you download the brochure from here, look at the bottom of page 10..

is that wrong/irrelevent?

no do not send in the brochure. Just send it the downloadable RSI APPLICATION.

will an ungodly low Writing score hurt ones chances alot, if the math and Crit. Reading are not bad. like 76M and 72W. (and like a 60 writ.) i know, i know, you are above the "stats," but will this really hurt? they dont mention a recomended min writ. score, so do they not much matter?

ooo a 60 writing. I do not think you should apply. In fact, just to be safe, maybe you should go outback and shoot yourself to save the gene pool.

Umm....If you concentrate solely on scores to secure you a place in a college or program then you will get nowhere. What is important is the things you do and your passions behind them. The numbers help, but they are not the all-encompassing factor in an admissions decision. Concentrate on the things that matter. Such as being a good, well rounded person who is driven to learn. For instance, I did not have the magic 140 PSAT. I did not have the magic 75M. But I did get in because I did other things more important than a set of scores.

Dont fret over silly stuff like a 60 on a writing section.

If I had listened to the suggestions of those score-mongals here on CC, I would definitely not have applied to RSI or had such an amazing summer. I would have just walked over to the nearest burger king and taken the job that someone with such a hideously low score such as myself ought to have ::rolls eyes::, in the score elitism of CC.

do ppl get accepted to rsi from the same school in consecutive years? there is a brilliant kid applying this year from my school and i was wondering if i have a chance next year (i'm a soph now)
btw- i am wondering because i remember reading something about 1 person every other year or something like that...

I think you should not listen to people. People or stupid. I mean really, do you think this program will say " o wow you are like einstein but we accepted someone from your school last year REJECTED. Some schools get two or three people a year. Its about you not your school, really.

rick04~
I didn't AT ALL mean it like that. I just didnt want a trivial test to keep me from participating in something that i know that i'd love. Anyways, it doesnt help to see how smart you all are... Half of the you have like 230+'s and static had a grant and you did lotsa neato stuff too. You guys are all really smart. I was just asking if they cared alot about the most worthless section of a worthless standardized test ever.
thx, i wasnt trying to be offensive or an "elitist"- which is the last lable that i want, at school im surrounded by them everyday.

do 2 and 3 people really get accepted from the same school in the same year?

yes it does happen

I am very sorry Random. I just really hate this webpage and I have a lot of biases as a result. For some reason, when i registered to send that reply to nghi, I started to get emails updating me on this particular thread. Well, anyhow I am just sorry for making you out to be an elitist. I just get very passionate about such things. I just see so many people who focus only on the standardized test and it scares me so much. I mean, do not worry about the silly test. You will do just fine. You need to just realize that you are just as smart as anyone else and find your passions and pursue them. But really, you will never NOT get into RSI because of test scores. IT will have to be a combination of many things. So, if you think you know where your application is weak, just concentrate on offsetting it with what makes you strong. The best way is to get "omg this should be in the bible" good recommendations.

Sorry again. I will try and realize that not all CC people are elitist.

Good luck with RSI. If I get to be a counselor this year, remind me that your first game of DDR is free on me.

i invoke such a response in you lyn that it made you register, broke your promise never to go on CC again, JUST to reply to me?

Anyway, do you know how many get in/apply every year, from where, etc.?

umm
i think 1100 applied and 75 kids got in.
thats for domestic spots
international works differently and i never really heard what all those numbers were.
by the way,
im stefan and i also was rsi 04.
ill be around to answer some admissions questions too i guess, but ill be better off describing the actual summer (to some extent, some things are best left as surprises) to those that are curious.
so if you wanna throw out any additional questions, ill be able to provide a second opinion on this whole rsi deal

p.s. dont ask stupid questions like "how many kids get in from ohio" "how competitive is florida"
we're just alums, dont be ridiculous
