Not until I overnight my application tomorrow morning. :)

So when I was mailing my app at kinkos, I ran in to a Rickoid 07. What were the odds? I'd been meaning to find him and ask him a million questions but never got around to it.

good luck pplz!! ur apps should all be out by now, if not tomorrow xD! Not everyone on the list can get in... but let's hope most of them do! =D anyone got any info on how competitive this year's RSI is? 2006 RSI thread had over 200 pages (on my computer same # posts per page), and this year til now we're at pg 37...

anyways.. for me, the long wait begins... anticipation index = 70

time to add 163 pages...

And how do you calculate the anticipation index??

ohh mannn four californians?
this is going to be TOUGH.
how many people from each state normally go?
probably 1-2, since there are only 50 spots.
but i read that one year there were 89 students at RSI.
so hopefully we'll have 64 spots =]

i'd like to figure out my anticipation index as well!
i just sent my app about an hour ago... and my heart is racing!

dang i sent in my form yesterday. Like so many of my friends also applied lol.

good luck everyone! last year it seemed to be approximately 1-2 people per state, so it's definitely going to be competitive in california and some of east coast states this year.

for anyone who would like to read another thread (several rickoids gave some info), here it is:

I called fedex after I sent my app out, and apparently, 41 packages from across the country were sent to CEE :) So there are at least 40 other people who procrastinated like me haha

RSI USA
MITdude (MD)
DMRenrel (GA)
Classof09 (NJ)
VPof09 (CA)
Teh0therside (CA)
kgong (CA)
thestralnerd (RI)
shravas (OH)
gblob331 (UT)
ABigSmall (CA)
foreverfree (OR)

RSI Internationals
rhine&roses (Germany)

whatever happens will happens, so I guess the best thing is to just not worry about it. :)

^ wot school in oregon?

Sent it out yesterday - underrepresented state here lol, probably 2 people applied total, and probably 2 people from the state know of CC, so don't worry about me spoiling the California party. I don't think my app is good enough to spoil anyone's party :/

i highly doubt that, herman.

i know its cheesy, but you're smart enough to even give it a shot.
and most people, when they see the difficulty of actually getting in, they back out, you know? like some people i know just went 'BLEH NO WAY that's HARD' but they're probably better candidates than me.

so yeah, haha there's my feel-better speech. =]

haha thanks VP --- well at least it was a nice intro to college apps, and i now know i want one of my rec writers from rsi to write my college one

snm - 41 packages seems a little low, but maybe the most apps came in a few days earlier than yours or something, otherwise if cee only receives 40 packages a day for the past week or so...

Or maybe they used different carriers.. :)
though I'm fine with CEE receiving only 280 packages.. more of a chance for us.. FINISHED WITH MY APPPPPPPP. It's going out first thing tomorrow morning or today morning.. or whatever. Time for me to shower and then go practice some piano...

ZOMG!!! the link from kgong... those apps by those ppl... on that thread... that's some freaking pwnage stats man!! is everyone applying like that? someone post stats if you think yours is totally pwnage plox... i want u guys to shoot my hopes down so i dun cry as much when i get rejected.... sigh*

Does anyone know if we can submit extra information that we find out before the end of March after we've sent our application? And where should we send it to if we can?

oooo man, i saw that link too....my problems in the application were so general, and i have pretty much no credentials compared to them lol

lol well you guys do realize that the population on AoPS is different from that of CC... they are the neurotic math nerds, we're the neurotic overall nerds.. and they tend to be amazing neurotic math nerds, but i'll leave it at that...

My application isn't anything amazing either. Just a couple of realistic topics and a girl who like math and science...

Hey! I recently bought some Art of Problem Solving math books. But I'm not going into math; bio baby! :P

Phoo, I briefly talked about zombies in one of my Question 2 questions. I do hope that's appropriate

Zombies are always appropriate.
