Research Science Institute ( RSI ) 2008

Has anyone received the return postcard yet?

I'm somewhat surprised I haven't yet since I sent in the application fairly early. I'm not really worried though because I could tell my overnight express package was signed for.

But I wonder if there are tons of applications they're sifting through...

I received mine either tuesday or wednesday after feb 8 (i live in GA)

I didn't send a postcard, but the check for the application fee was cashed.

i wonder how many hundreds, maybe thousands of applications they have to go through...

Somebody should start a RSI 2008 Roster thread, apparently there was a 2005 one

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/high-school-life/31039-rsi-2005-roster.html

i havent received my postcard yet either. i have a weird image of this little lady taking my money, scanning my application for a brief second, and throwing it away going "HAHAHA"

;_________;

we have a list of ppl from different locations applying... go to previous pages, it was discontinued after almost everyone signed on it. =D

and how did i just become junior member? anyone tell me how the ranking system works? i thought i only had 35 posts?!

I got my post card back 3 days ago.

hehehe, maybe ur postcards are so rare RSI ppl like 'em and kept them xD

^lol Great.

wait we are supposed to get a postcard?!?!?!

well if you wanted confirmation that they got it and opened it, you would have sent one with it.
but you can tell just by if they cashed the check yet or not.
a month and a half left!

Last year, decisions came out in like, March 21st.

So more like, 33 days left.

wait, really?
so they are going to come out earlier than they said they would?

oh gosh i'm getting nervous again. crappp

Mar. 21? Gah, I'd almost rather have to wait a little longer for a more certain date...
anticipationIndex+=31.6;
while(System.date()<MAR_21)
anticipationIndex+=anticipationIndex*.01; //which of course really needs a timer, but w/e

Heh heh.... if you decide you want the results to come out later, DMRenrel, I'm sure the RSI guys will be pleased to accomodate you. They seem to enjoy messing with our minds like that...

yes they do... falls into illusion

should i send my sat 2 math scores to rsi? they just came in and were very high or are sat 2 not important?

It's not a bad idea. The reason that any of these tests matter is that there's no national curriculum in the US, so no one outside your school knows what "Honors Calculus II" really covers. My friend who used to read apps valued AP courses because the subject matter is standardized. Your scores on the SAT II's are probably helpful for the same reason.

Since you're DODEA, send the scores to your selection authority. They'll forward them to CEE with your folder if they nominate you. Others should probably mail copies of their score reports using old-fashioned snail mail: CEE seems to be a very paper-bound operation.
