Research Science Institute ( RSI ) 2008

uh i am so nervous. Oh well whats the point, no way i actually got in.

TJ is the thomas jefferson high school ... its really sciency

Just got my letter in Pa...rejected. haha Just as I expected.

bummer..not in.

do you guys think the west coast will get the rejection letters , i mean letters from rsi today? lol

ok, California gets mail from CEE in 3 days while the east coast gets it in 2 days (i checked the usps first class mail postage calculation for a letter). so assuming that it was mailed on the same day. no the west coast will get in on saturday. :(

Those of us still waiting for our letters:

Let's do a screaming, I mean, deep breathing exercise to relieve the stress...
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Much better. :)

I'm sooo nervous. I don't even know why though because there is a 95-96 chance that I will be rejected anyway.

wow...that means that in two hours when i get home from school a hot crisp "epic fail" will be in my mailbox

mmmmm, toasty ;-)

Guess I'm first one to get rejected :(
Good luck to all of you guys that havn't seen your letter yet.

Hmm, 24th annual? That's strange. I thought I attended that one. As I recall, they took 53 domestics and 27 internationals last year.

Do they send rejection letters, or do they only send letters to the winners?

hahahaha.

okay if the east coast got it yesterday there's a chance the west coast can get it today... the mail is pretty screwy with rates, sometimes it goes a lot faster than expected. but I guess we can pretty much all look forward to saturday at the latest....

they send rejections and acceptances at the same time

i'm just wondering...is there anyone from MA who applied for RSI?

vectorLaplacian, they send letters to everyone

Aw, DMRenrel, you're lowering my chances in Georgia. Heh, but good luck.

Heh, sorry man.
No news in Georgia yet.
I biked to school and then home ==> sweaty and my jewfro exploded w/ helmet hair, just so I could see the letter, but my only letter was from Chattahoochee Tech...I guess that means it'll come tommorow, when I'm at science olympiad until like 7. Fantastic. On the bright side, I made it to round 2 of the Chem olympiad...Should I notify CEE :) ?

Good luck, congrats, and condolences to all, respectively.

dang... that means I won't be getting my letter today. I just wanted this to be over. -_-

@stargirl90: im sure someone applied from there...hahah

as a lot of u hav been private messaging me the same questions, i guess ill answer them here haha....

lets seee....16/F/VA (hehehe) and uhh i put down math/geometric combinatorics over the finite field and geometric combinatorics with abstract algebra...

ive only been working in this field (pun pun haha) for about a year so im kinda a noob ^_^ but i hav about 5 years of experience in general combinatorics...so yeaaa

cant wait to meet the rest of u!!

^ congrats!!!
