did anyone from OR or WA get in?

There's definitely at least one person from WA going.

"If an alternate can indeed afford to pay 1/10th of this amount, he/she does not need RSI."

So RSI is for earning money?
Not true.

Maite Ballesteros (last year's coordinator) told us in late May that noone was coming off the alternate list. If something changed, it was pretty last minute. We were also told that if someone declines, the alternate generally will come from the same geographic region so as to maintain balance.

I was told that the alternate list is explicitly ranked, each person has a number, and if someone declines they pull from the top of the list regardless of geographic region or field of study. However, if someone pulls out at the last minute, as in they said they were coming originally and there is already an internship lined up for them, the top person in their field on the alternate list comes instead, again, regardless of geographic region.

Since my daughter is travelling this week we've been looking for some mail from RSI, but still nothing. We're in the State of Washington...

Are folks still getting letters? Wondering if hers was lost in the mail...

Have any alternates been contacted yet that a spot has opened up?

hey guys . . . i was just wondering, do you need computer science knowledge to be accepted into rsi? in other words, will the people at rsi look down at your application because you have no technical skills at all? thanks
