Research Science Institute (RSI) 2009

I'm the only kid applying. I'm so doubtful right now. o_o Oh noes...
Just for the record, how does RSI look on college apps? Good?

Hah theres one other girl at my school applying.
Grrrh we both want it so badly.

@Megavortex, it looks fantastic on apps, although its not your ticket in.

@dashboard, lol stage seven is me too. And it totally is good practice for college!

I was Chemistry, Oceanic
Biochem, Exercise

Are there any other ecology people here? I can see it's not very popular.

Terrible.

Mine were way shorter than that. Actually, they only really took up 2 pages. Is that bad?

No, it's not bad if you said everything you needed to. Mine were a full three pages, but just barely so, and I didn't modify margins or font size at all.

2 applied from my school. i'm kinda hoping we both get in and i think we both have a legitimate shot but not getting my hopes up too high

Delete this post - duplicate

hmm i did math/number theory, comp sci/artificial intelligence

oh this is fun, i liked reading this earlier
wordcount
1- 533 words
2- 544 words
3- 550 words
4- 499 words
6- 218 words
7- 90 words
8- 51 words
9- 22 words

just over 2500 words (had to adjust margins, i wanted to fit 8 and 9 on my 3rd page and have a line between each question)

I probably overdid it
...3,500 words

oops. Whatever its on the way to Virginia now so nothing I can do!

2140 words. oh well. not getting in. I probably have like 1% chance.

MegaVortex, RSI looks so bad on college applications, they'd rather you spend $6000 on harvard summer school.

For the people from schools who had a lot of applicants, do you guys go to schools like Stuyvesant or Bronx Science?

don't a lot of applicants come from TJ?

I would think so. I'm the only one applying from my school (to my knowledge).

I could be wrong, but I think that my friend and I are the only two applicants that our school has ever had... and we're a great school.

Yup, my school has a had a few applicants but never an acceptance.

I guess everyone has turned in their forms already - good luck!

TJ typically gets around 2 people in on average. A lot apply.

do they by any chance send a confirmation email?

i sent mine on tuesday, and I checked that it arrived on wednesday (one night shipping)...

however, they still havent sent me an email...is that normal?

thanks

Oh, so it isn't like a "hook" ?

I remember on the application it said to include a blank pre-addressed, stamped postcard for them to send back to you if you wanted confirmation. So I don't think they send an email.

Congrats everyone; we are officially all done :) Onto stage 5...
