hmmmm. yay? @ ^

How many people, on average, apply to RSI?

I heard somewhere that it was somewhere between 1000 and 1500, although I thought it was closer to the latter.

Yeah, the acceptance rate is around 3...which is why we are on stage 5.

I guess I decided to post here. A lot of people seem to be overqualified and i don't believe they are all trolls.

Other than regular math/science background, who else here is in sports? IB?

Tennis!

My three pretty big ECs outside of math/science are debate, music, and newspaper. They take so much time x_x..

I also do year-round french and history interscholastic competitions. The vikings are kicking me in the butt so hard right now.

I run cross country, track, and in my spare time study/practice programming and hacking.
I'm also an IB diploma candidate, so for me, hopefully GPA isn't a big factor in decisions. With the teachers at my school, 4.0 uw in IB is historically impossible. like most others i have around a 3.8

Ultimate Frisbee
My main EC is guitar though, and that's what I conveyed.

ultimate is pretty fun. where i live, not many play it, they're all into football, especially because my school won the CA state game

IB here! :)

I'm a programmer too, but I spend a lotta time with the bands (All of em... that's a lot) and Model UN-ing

Model UN is seriously fun :P

just got my first semester B in IB

...which drops me to like 3.99 UW or something

Ahh, shizz. I just realised that I forgot to get a college transcript

bangs head

STAGE FIVE!!

^ Don't worry! It won't matter that* much.

lol... I can imagine being one of those people who doesn't get in and thinking, "If only I had asked ERAU for my transcript!!! I'm a failure! emo" xD

Does anyone know under what conditions RSI gives students their #2 choice of field/subfield?

^If they are a competitive applicant but their #1 choice is over subscribed to?

I wasn't sure if that was really the case because some other people have been saying that RSI doesn't really have mentor shortages...Would they defer you to your second choice if they felt you were more qualified to do research in that field as opposed to your first?

@ra: I think that's probably likely.

this thread had better not die. I still can't wait for the beginning of April...

that'd be so sick to get accepted into this. Hopefully the questions are worth more than the stats/awards. March seems like too long a time away though right now. oh well

67 days left!
