Is anyone else ridiculously excited?! I feel like everyone is relatively mellow, especially considering this is RSI! i don't know, maybe I am making this a bigger deal than it is. But I am excited to go to boston this summer!

You should be exicited. Congratulations on your hard work.

I saw on Art of Problem Solving that everyone that said they got in already recieved it on/by Monday...since its Wednesday now, I doubt I will receive one (for acceptance)

I guess they didnt like my essay. Now that I look at it, I wouldve been better off writing about 2 things and going into depth/maybe even exaggerating them instead of what I did, which was superficially write about 15 things.

I had math olympiad/math professor rec and still rejected so obviously its not a lock (like everyone else said)--I think there are people that only got 3-4 on AIME but still made it in math because they showed a lot more passion than I did. But like I said, if you didnt get in, try to research somewhere else. Im pretty sure if you are Siemens Semi, its the same no matter where you did your research.

Has anyone gotten a rejection letter yet?

one of my friends did, so there's still hope!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

one of my friends also got rejection letter. I'm expecting a rejection letter when i check the mail today, as well... =/

So wait, is it true that if we didn't get a letter on monday, we were rejected? Or have there been people who are still recieving acceptance letters?

Gah! What a headache! I'd forgotten about this (well, no not really. More like pushed it to the back of my mind to avoid the anguish >.<) And now I can't stop thinking about it!

ALL decisions have been mailed.

ah...

mmmm!!! No mail yet here....

OH my gosh, I'm so freaking out.

No one here in Port Orange/Daytona has gotten theirs...

I just called them and they said that acceptance letters were sent last thursday and rejections were sent yesterday... i guess that means the rest of us were rejected >.<

Mm... well, I'm hoping the mail around here is just slow. :\ maybe tomorrow?

mee too sigh

mee too sigh

sigh. apparently too many qualified and not enough spots

didnt make it. one down for california

^Two down for California :[ sigh.
"On behalf...competition for the few available places was most intense, with many more qualified applicants than we could accept.
...we regret that we are unable to offer you a position in RSI 2009."

oh well i was kinda expecting it.
rockstopper just curious, what were ur stats/big awards?

If rejection letters were sent out on Tuesday, how did people in california get it on Wednesday? That doesn't make sense. Did anyone get an acceptance letter after Monday?

Rejected. I was expecting this in March. I am dumbfounded.

=(

I don't think anyone after Monday received good news.
The postal service will have delivered all letters since Thursday.

i was rejected too..... sigh i can't believe it-- i worked on my essays for a LONG TIME

Don't worry kids, it willa ll get betttr in time.

When you are in college (quite possibly at your first choice), no one will care whether or not you went to RSI -- you included.

You can still do resaerch and stuff over the summer. I recommend SSTP at university of Florida and YSP at FSU. YSp is only for Florida residents, but SSTp accepts people from everywhere.

Oh, also, the research internships at boston University are supposed to be really good. And you would still get to go to Boston, so ;).

I was accepted, and I really do not know why. I did not have any amazing awards or anything, but I worked hard on my essays.

Congrats to those who did get in!

ra, have you not gotten yours yet?

I saw your stats earlier (2400, ISEF, Siemens semi), I wouldnt think you would get rejected. But who knows?
