Research Supplement help needed

I've just finished writing my research supplement for my app's (Duke and Northwestern, i'm using the same one)

I actually have two things on it. The first part's an abstract from a science summer camp i went to and the other's a summary of my summer internship. I'm not worried about the abstract, but my mom just read the summary and said that i should emphasis what i learned more than what i did. I'm not sure that I could do that well w/out going "....and I learned that....." (and what did i learn other than how to do some research? Cut up plants, care for plants, water plants?) So i'm wondering what everyone else thinks.

Also, for those who also turned in some research info, how did you format it? Since i had two things, I put the activity and then double spaced and put the summaries. Is that okay?

Any comments would be really really appreciated.
