How hard is it to get into research with a professor. I'm a chemistry major and a sophomore transfer.

There are definitely lots of opportunities for undergraduates to get involved in research. The best way is to just take initiative. If a professor you are taking a class from is doing interesting research, go to their office hours and ask them more about it. Look at professors’ pages and see what research they’re doing, and don’t be afraid to ask to meet with them. From what I have seen, almost all professors are excited by an enthusiastic student. But at the same time, don’t be offended if a professor says that they can’t take you on to help with research. They just might not have the time or a suitable project.
