<p>When should I begin doing research? </p>
<p>Should I start now (sophomore) or wait until I get higher grades as my grades aren't very good right now? </p>
<p>How should I approach a professor to do research with? I'm worried they'll ask about my gpa and grades in specific important courses.</p>
<p>when u take a really important class in your major, one that your passionate about, go above and beyond in the class, visit with your professor, and get a place at the top of the class, the professor will notice you if your performance is exceptional. Then when you approach him the next semester for possible research opportunities your chances will be better. </p>
<p>if your work-study eligible make a note of that too; because if you are the school (not the proff) might be paying all or at least some of your salary.</p>
